Sir, Madams,

The Partisan Defense Committee vigorously protests against the prosecution of trans-rights activists at Cal Anderson Park on May 24 and Seattle City Hall on May 27. These activists, including the Freedom Socialist Party and others, were counter-protesting an anti-trans rally by Christian bigots in the park. Police assaulted, pepper sprayed and threw to the ground many of the opponents of this anti-trans bigotry. At least 23 were man-handled and arrested and eight are facing felony charges. Then, outrageously, eight more pro-trans demonstrators were arrested when the bigots assembled again at City Hall three days later.

We demand that all these charges be dropped immediately.
